Chairman  BoD – Mr. Try Som

Mr. Try Som has been the Chairman of CCASVA BoD since December 2011. He is currently a Regional Finance Director of INGO, and he was the Regional Finance Manager in the East Asia Office at World Vision International, Finance and Administration Director at World Vision Cambodia (international NGO), Internal Audit Manager, Finance Officer for the CEDC Program and Internal Auditor at Vision Cambodia. Try Som graduated with Master of Art, specializing in Organizational Leadership, from the Eastern University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Deputy BoD - Mrs. Hun Phanna

Mrs. Hun Phanna is the deputy BoD of CCASVA and is also the Executive Director at the Cambodian Women's Development Agency (CWDA). A former officer of Women's Association Phnom Penh Municipality, she has experience working with youth and vulnerable families, especially women and children in Phnom Penh. Since the 1980’s she focuses on community development, women's empowerment, non-formal education, prevention and protection of women and children against trafficking and credit schemes.

BoD member, Mr. Chheang Phea

Mr. Chheang Phea was elected to be a member of CCASVA BoD on 10 September 2019 to present. He is an extremely passionate and driven person. He was a highly motivated HR-Manager. He has gained comprehensive experience in key programs and policy decisions, and all operations-related decisions. Having experience in managing project with limited resources and working with team with diverse background. He is a manager who always has good relationship with the subordinates. He is able to develop creative ideas and provide feedback to the communities. He is a visionary manager, and He always enjoys dynamic working environment and be able to work in a multi-cultural setting.

Executive Director, Mrs. Choun Soyorn

Program Manager, Mrs. Phoeung Sinam

Positions and Employment: January 2021-present: Program Manager of CCASVA;  2003- October 2020: Area Program and Operation manager of World Vision International (WVI); 2000- December 2002: Program Manager Concern World Wide; 1993- December 1999: Program Manager with Save The Children Norwegian (Redd Barna) International Organization in Cambodia; 1989-1992:  CRS Hospital Midwife and Nurse position in CRS hospital.

Education background: 2022: Reginal Virtual Faculty Development Seminar( RVFD ) training, specific topic of Next Generation participation and Development; 2013:  Master of Development Management, ASDECS (Asian School of Development and Cross-Cultural Culture Studies); 2012: completed a series of Learning for Transformation courses ( LfT for 12 courses),  WVI learning unit; 2011:  Advanced Leadership Session at HAGGAI INSTITUTE – Mid-Pacific Center, Maui, USA; 1990:  Secondary Midwife and Nurse.

Position and employment: Jan, 2019- 2021: He was a Provincial Coordinator at Cambodian Children Against Starvation and Violence (CCASVA) within 2 provinces, Tbaung Khmum and Siem Reap; from 2016- Dec 2018, was Program Coordinator, Implementation of Social Accountability Framework I-SAF Program at PHNOM SREY ORGANIZATION FOR DEVELOPMENT (PSOD) within Tbaung Khmum, province; from Jul, 2013- Jun 2016, he was a Project Manager and Project Officer at KHEMARA organization within Tbaung Khmum, Prey Veng and Svay Rieng province; from Mar, 2008- Jun 2013, was a Community Development Facilitator and Community Development Worker-WatSan and Health Education At Church World Service- Cambodia (CWS) within Preah Vihear province; from Jan- Dec 2007, was a Out of School Youth Coordinator  at World Education Organization within Takeo province; from Dec, 2005-Dec, 2006, was a Youth Star Cambodia Volunteer at life skill HIV&AIDS education within Kratie province and before that he used to be A research student in Plant Breeding of Cambodian Agriculture Research and Development Institute (CARDI), the tasks were to design experimental    layout, data collection and data analysis.

Technical Advisor, Mr. Phok Bunroeun

Mr. Bunroeun was a former Executive Director of CCASVA until 2019, as well as a founding member of CCASVA (January 1996). He is a Professor of Mathematics and also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Masters of Public Administration. He has extensive experience in working with vulnerable or orphaned street children and their families in Phnom Penh, with particular expertise in sexual and reproductive health, reintegration programs, and home care for people living with HIV/AIDS. He also attended the training on UNCRC at Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, North Korea, Switzerland, Australia, Nepal, and Vietnam. He is a chairperson of NGOCRC, used to be a board of director of COCECAM, Cambodia ACts, Asia Acts. He is a master trainer on village safety Net and capacity building for NGO partners of Cambodia ACTs.
