The Child Protection Project has three objectives to address the child protection issues in twenty villages in two communes in one district, Prey Veng province. 2. The project staff is working closely with local community to promote and ensure protection of children. 3. The project aims to strengthen an enabling environment for child protection by working through government structures such as CCWC, commune councils, and civil society groups such as community based organizations, pagoda committees and other stakeholders in the community. 4. The project will work closely with CPP-SCA to provide capacity training on general child protection issues, D&D process, service provision, M&E and reporting, leadership, and dissemination of information to CCWC at commune and district level. 5. The existing child protection mechanism in community level will be supported through enhancing the capacity of CCWC and local authorities to undertake their roles and responsibilities on child protection issues. 6. The project will also work with CCWC and civil society at commune and district level to increase awareness on child protection, and social service provision through child protection mechanism. The capacity of CCWC will be built on annual plan development for child protection issues, inclusion of child protection issues in the Community Investment Plan and the allocation of a small budget to implement child protection activities. 7. The project will provide opportunity to children and stakeholders to participate in child protection advocacy and monitoring. o The project will provide capacity building to the project staff and work together with other programs for improving the project and financial management of CCASVA |
