Changes in children’s lives

The project has set up to promote the community people and children in child protection system through enabling community-based organizations (CBOs) to be active community based child protection mechanisms (CBCPMs). Those CBCPMs has played very good role to create culture of sharing about knowledge and good practice in terms of children’s rights, prevention and protection their children from all forms of violence being occurred at their homes, communities, schools and in the public administration’s system. Our projects have been also created the self-help group spirit through project staff’s coaching support for child club’s development of non-budget action plan which have been implemented by child club members who are from target communities of the commune. The actions are mainly kind of peer-to-peer education and awareness raising about children’s rights, Gender Based Violence and Violence Against Children to be taken place in schools and homes.
There were several ways that have been engaged government, civil society and other duty bearers to participate in the project. We have invited them to participate in the project’s
interventions like joint field monitoring visit, joint support between Commune Councils/ CCWCs and Community Based Organization (CBO) like child clubs, closed groups and village Community Based Child Protection Mechanism (VCBCPM) to identify the issues and to develop the annual workplan for respective CBOs and field assessment on project implementation. We continue our support for giving space for at least 2 child representatives and 2 parents in Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC) membership and at least 2 child representatives in Women and Children Consultative Committee (WCCC) membership. In addition, providing space for CCASVA’s project staff + management team to participate in their official meetings like CCWC’s and WCCC’s meetings.
